Same-Day Tooth Replacement
Do you have a broken or infected tooth that needs replacement? New advances in technique and technology allow the placement of Immediate Implants on the day of broken tooth removal. At Blooming Dental & Implant Center, we use the most advanced implants with surface treatments and updated geometry that allow same-day tooth replacements in most cases, including front and back teeth.
Why Choose Same-Day Tooth Replacement?
Traditionally, dental implants were done in 3 surgeries.
-
At the first surgery, a broken or infected tooth would first get extracted, and bone, grafted or not, would be left to heal for several months.
-
At the second surgery, the implant would be placed in the bone and left to heal for several months.
-
At the third surgery, the implant would be uncovered from the gum, and then the crown would be made.
This process could easily take more than a year to complete, during which the following things can happen:
-
Teeth next to the surgery site start to tip into the space, making the space sometimes too small for a proper-sized tooth. This can also create areas between the gums that are harder to clean in the future.
-
Opposing teeth that bite into the space can move into the space, making the space too short for a proper-sized tooth.
Both of these things are time-consuming and expensive to reverse. The best way to prevent this is to replace the tooth as soon as possible. Same Day Tooth Replacement allows for the final crown to be placed in 3 months instead of over a year.

What If I Need A Front Tooth Replaced?
If you have a broken or infected front tooth replaced, the best thing to do in most cases is to replace it with an implant and a temporary tooth the same day. This is because the gum that surrounds the tooth is supported by the front tooth.
The gums give the frame to the front teeth to look like a tooth, and without it, we often lose symmetry and esthetics. Once the front tooth is gone, even with bone grafting, the gum immediately starts collapsing and is almost impossible to recover.
However, if an implant and a temporary tooth are placed on the same day, this prevents the collapsing of gums, and you never have to wear removable teeth!
